- Completely rebuilt. Non backwards compatible release. Only the most important new features are mentioned below.
- Bugfix: set the correct Content-Type header for JSON responses (application/json).
- Feature: added support for MySQL (and other databases) via PDO. New config options: "database_dsn", "database_user" and "database_pass".
- Feature: added support for custom table prefixes. New config option: "database_table_prefix".
- Feature: attempted to simplify the installation process. ThumbsUp no longer relies on a global $thumbsup variable. Created a more robust and convenient way to load the ThumbsUp javascript and stylesheet.
- Feature: rebuilt admin area. Showing extra vote stats for each item. Added additional filter on "open" status. Added possibility to change the number of up/down votes manually. Added dropdown to change the number of items per page.
- Feature: added possibility to filter and sort ThumbsUp items.
- Feature: added possibility to define custom formats to be used for the results in template output. New config option: "default_formats".
- Feature: added options to integrate with existing user system. New config options: "user_id_check", "user_id_callback" and "user_login_required".
- Feature: users without javascript enabled now get to see a styled (working) ThumbsUp item.
- Feature: all templates got tweaked. Some new options added. Added :focus styles. Added basic text squeezing for large numbers that wouldn't fit within the item box.
- Feature: added fallback support for PHP's native json_encode and json_decode functions.
- Feature: created a debug mode environment for showing all errors to help fix possible installation problems. New config option: "debug".
- Feature: upgraded to jQuery 1.4.2.
